Venezuelan artist Sattva Giacosa was born in Las Tapias-Mérida and currently lives in Vienna. She is a visual artist who moves between  photography and conceptual art.

Inspired by her own experiences and influenced by the interactions she has had during her life as an immigrant in Europe, Sattva intensely deals with photography and storytelling, by focusing on the inadequacies and incalculable effects of analogue techniques. By using photography as a means of communication and a way to revisualize stories, she focuses not only on the image producing process, but also works with materials directly, stepping out of the hyperrealism of the photographic era in which we live.
